EFA’s are crucial the different parts of your pup’s epidermis cells – they help skin to retain water and elasticity, which contributes to a softer and glossier coat, plus they also help to quell nasty skin inflammation. The most readily useful EFA’s for your Frenchie will be the ones that are found in flax oil, borage oil, evening primrose and deep sea fish oil. Finally, there are ways that you can support your Frenchie’s epidermal health from the outside, too! Use ordinary standard water for baths when possible, or a moisturizing shampoo with conditioning ingredients.

If you get that a Frenchie will break out in hives or rashes in certain situations (like after lying down outside on turf), make an effort to limit their exposure and eliminate factors behind allergy in your home. If you can’t completely avoid something that causes a breakout, put a light shirt on your doggie to prevent direct contact, or wash their skin in cool water soon after to rinse away irritating things that trigger allergies like pollen. Interestingly, acupuncture and chiropractic care have also been known to make a difference as well – perhaps because they both donate to your dog’s overall immune function.

It’s important to keep in mind that some Frenchies may still need the assistance of immune suppressing medications in some severe situations, however. The apparently endless occurrence of skin problems will surely be a way to obtain frustration for most Frenchie owners – understandably so! By using a balanced approach to treating frenchie skin care issues, your pup’s health and increasing overall support because of their disease fighting capability, you can banish those ‘itchy scratchy’ woes. And that’s very good news! Can your Frenchie’s allergy treatment be as simple as easy as a ft . bath? Please remember that ALL information shared here is for educational purposes ONLY. The Calendula plant (Calendula officinalis), specifically its flowers, is best known because of its use in skin care. Pot marigold as it is called has anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Its ability to promote epithelial cell growth and healing of the skin has been well documented in both animal and human studies.

Calendula also offers purported immunostimulating activity that plays a part in its wound therapeutic ability. It is the blossoms of calendula that contain these restorative healing properties. Calendula is useful for minor abrasions but also for calf ulcers also, radiation burns, and surgical wounds. It can even be used internally for wounds such as stomach ulcers.
